James and Mildred Menera Memorial Scholarship

“This scholarship was established by Virginia Menera Trevor ’65 in memory of her parents, James and Mildred Menera, who encouraged her to pursue a career in teaching. Her Oswego education prepared her well and she spent 33 years happily teaching elementary school. This scholarship will support a deserving student in the School of Education with financial need. A preference will be given to first-generation college students. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a full time student in good standing enrolled in the School of Education.
b. Have a minimum 3.00 GPA.
c. Have demonstrated financial need.
d. Apply in the student’s sophomore or junior year (having completed 27-86 credits, including transfer credits)
e. Preference will be given to a first generation college student.
f. Submit an essay indicating why he/she wants to become a teacher
Note: This scholarship is renewable.”
