Richard Zakin Memorial Art Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Helen Zakin in honor and memory of her husband, Richard Zakin, emeritus professor of art. Richard began his career in the Art Department teaching ceramics at SUNY Oswego in 1967. He was renowned in the field of ceramics, providing innovative glaze formulas and glazing techniques, which many potters use. In addition to being a gifted artist, Richard was a much beloved teacher who loved sharing his knowledge and craft with students. To qualify for this scholarship, a student must:
a. Be a full-time matriculated student in good standing, majoring in art
b. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
c. Apply in sophomore or junior year, (having completed 26-86 credits, including transfer).
d. Have documented financial need.
e. Submit a portfolio of work.
Note: This scholarship is renewable.
