Pathfinder Bank Opportunities Scholarship

“As the oldest financial institution in Oswego County, New York, Pathfinder Bank continues to maintain its original ideals and commitments to customer service and community involvement. Among the important elements of Pathfinder’s mission is a desire to have a lasting impact on the communities it serves. Pathfinder knows that sustaining growth in a community and region can be achieved through a well-educated and diverse workforce. This scholarship was created in recognition of the impact of SUNY Oswego’s enduring commitment to educational opportunity, in particular the institution’s continuing efforts to advance students with the greatest financial need by providing educational opportunities to all students who meet admissions criteria and have a desire to attend college.
To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Apply during Freshman, Sophomore or Junior year at SUNY Oswego (having completed 27-86 credits, including transfer credits)
b. Maintain a SUNY Oswego GPA of 2.8
c. Have financial hardship and submit a statement detailing financial situation
d. Submit a 150-word essay demonstrating how he/she has overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to succeed in higher education; OR Submit a 150-word essay demonstrating how the student has contributed to the diversity of the student body in the student’s major or a specific program/club in which the student is involved
*1 award will be granted. This scholarship is automatically renewable.”
