Borman and Chambers Family Education Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Borman Family Foundation in memory of William James Chambers ’68, Bonnie McNulty Chambers ’70, Robert Bruce Borman ’71 and in honor of Diana Potter Borman ’71. This scholarship is to support motivated future educators, recognizing a student in the School of Education with financial need who demonstrates a commitment to public education in pursuit of a career in teaching. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a full-time student who has declared a major in the School of Education, pursuing a teaching degree.
b. Maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA.
c. Apply in sophomore or junior year (having completed 26-86 credits, including transfer).
d. Demonstrate leadership skills and a variety of experiences and activities with children such as volunteerism, extracurricular activities and community involvement.
e. Submit an essay about someone who has influenced your desire to become a teacher and what that meant to you and that demonstrates your promise and commitment to the field of education.
