Robert C. Ziegler '84 Memorial Scholarship

“Robert Charles Ziegler (d.1985), was killed in a weather-related car accident. He received his BA in communications and had a minor in political science. His college activities included: recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award; WTOP-TV general manager, account executive, and news director; WOCR news staff, sports staff, disc jockey; Student Representative for the Communication Studies Department; writer for The Channel; Big Brother Program; Psi Phi Gamma Fraternity; College Orchestra; Dorm Council President – Lonis Moreland Hall and Resident Assistant Seneca Hall. Named to honor the memory of alumnus Robert C. Ziegler ’84, this scholarship recognizes achievement in the field of communication. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a sophomore or junior (completed 27–86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) at the time of selection
b. Be a full-time General Communication, Broadcasting and Mass Communication, Public Relations or Journalism major at the
time of selection.
c. Maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA
d. Submit materials to support the student’s outstanding achievement in the field of communications
e. Documented financial need”
