Schlacter Family Scholarship

The Schlacter Family established this perpetual scholarship to encourage and assist SUNY Oswego’s music students with significant financial need. The SUNY Oswego Music faculty had a significant impact on Charles Schlacter ’73 during his time at Oswego, preparing him for post graduate success. This scholarship will translate that impact to the next generation of SUNY Oswego students. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a matriculated student with significant, documented financial need – pursuing a major in Music.
b. Maintain a 3.0 GPA after Freshman year.
c. Demonstrate student involvement at SUNY Oswego related to Music.
d. Submit a 250 word essay documenting how this scholarship will assist in achieving career aspirations.
e. Apply in their freshman, sophomore or junior year for an award to be received the following academic year.

Note: this scholarship is renewable for up to a total of 3 years if a student is in good academic standing and continues to meet all other criteria.
