Mona Langbart Seidman ’51 Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Alan Seidman and Lisa Seidman in memory of their mother, Oswego alumna and dedicated lifelong educator, Mona Langbart Seidman ’51. Mona was a proud Oswego alumna and spoke fondly to her family about the experiences had, friendships made and memories of her time at Oswego, where she also had met her husband, and father to Alan and Lisa, Howard Seidman ’50. In Mona’s memory, this scholarship supports students majoring in Childhood Education who have financial need. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a Childhood Education major
b. Maintain a 3.0 SUNY Oswego GPA
c. Have financial need
d. Apply in freshman, sophomore, or junior year to receive the award the following year.
e. Submit a 500-word essay answering the following: “Why do you want to be an elementary school teacher?”
