Steve Messina ’91 Need Based Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Steve Messina ’91, whose passion and professions span law, as an attorney and partner – meteorology, with a lifelong love of weather – and broadcasting. It is designed to provide perpetual support to students with significant financial need, to encourage more student involvement / leadership activities. To qualify for this award, a student must:
• Have significant financial need.
• Be a current student, and apply in first year, second year, or third year.
• Have documented student involvement / leadership activities within SUNY Oswego’s student organizations or the like.
• Submit an essay describing how this award money will help them remain committed to student involvement / leadership activities.
• First preference is for student to be majoring in one of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. If no student qualifies, then all majors can be considered.
NOTE: This scholarship is automatically renewable as long as the student continues to meet the above criteria.
