Dr. Patrick Halpin Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Robert Hageny ‘86 in honor of Dr. Patrick Halpin, one of Bob’s professors. Bob attributes the problem-solving skills he uses in his field of employment to mathematics. Dr. Halpin taught in the math department for more than four decades and was dedicated to the success of students. This scholarship shows Bob’s appreciation of Dr. Halpin. The scholarship is for a deserving student who is involved in extracurricular or volunteer activities and/or is employed.

To qualify for this award, a student must:
Have a declared major within the School of Education, Computer Science, Cognitive Science or Information Science, or one of the natural/hard sciences including Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Mathematics, and Physics.
Apply in their sophomore or junior year, for an award to be received in the subsequent academic year.
Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA
Have demonstrated financial need.
