William R. Keener Sr. '30 Memorial Scholarship

The family of William R. Keener Sr. ’30 (d.2000) established this scholarship to recognize him for his efforts and years of dedication
to industrial arts education and his demonstrated commitment to achieving personal goals. Mr. Keener was an ambitious individual
who simultaneously worked up to three jobs to meet his financial needs in pursuing his education at SUNY Oswego. This scholarship
was established to help students faced with financial challenges in meeting their educational goals. Scholarship can be renewed with
application. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a Technology Education major of freshman, sophomore or junior status
b. Maintain a minimum SUNY Oswego GPA of 3.00
c. Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing a career in teaching technology
d. In addition to attending school, the student must work a minimum of ten hours per week
e. Have demonstrated financial need
f. Submit two written references from people able to speak to student’s qualifications for the award
g. Submit an essay discussing how you became interested in technology education
