Jones Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established by James Jones ’76, graduate and Fulton, New York native – to recognize and support passionate, engaged Meteorology majors, in recognition of the indelible impact SUNY Oswego had on his life. James is joined by his daughter, Laura ’09, and his entire family as they light the “path to wisdom” for our next generation. To qualify for this award, a student must:
• Be a matriculated student with significant, documented financial need – pursuing a major in Meteorology.
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA.
• Demonstrate student involvement at SUNY Oswego related to Meteorology.
• Submit a 250-word essay documenting their desired professional goal in the field of Meteorology.
• The student will apply in their freshman, sophomore or junior year for an award to be received the following academic year.
• This scholarship is renewable for up to a total of 3 years if a student is in good academic standing and continues to meet all other criteria.
