Vakirtzis Family Scholarship

The Vakirtzis Family established this award to assist first generation students with financial need – paying forward a multitude of meaningful, multi-generational SUNY Oswego experiences – to help our next generation fulfill their dreams of a college education. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a first-generation matriculated student with documented financial need
b. Apply in freshman, sophomore, or junior year (having accrued 12-86 credits, including transfer) for an award to be received the following academic year
c. Submit a 300-word essay documenting what they see as the challenges of college, how they plan to successfully overcome them and how this scholarship will assist them in achieving their dream of a college education.
NOTE: This scholarship is renewable for up to a total of 3 years if a student is in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and continues to meet all other criteria.
