Bartle Family Scholarship in memory of H. Fred Bartle

Established by his daughters, Susan and Gamin Bartle, this scholarship is dedicated to the memory of H. Fred Bartle, professor of political science from 1956-1986. Professor Bartle was an expert on the American Presidency, state, and local government as well as a true historian. He loved teaching and many of his students became part of his extended family. This scholarship supports rising seniors who show a long-term interest in understanding politics and government, especially those studying the American presidency in order to further democracy. Students considering law school and careers in public service or related fields and who demonstrate financial need are encouraged to apply.
To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a political science major
b. Have demonstrated financial need
c. Apply in their junior year, for an award to be received in the subsequent academic year.
