Geeta Govindarajoo and Bruce Ellsworth '87 Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Bruce Ellsworth ‘87 in honor and memory of of three former Chemistry professors at SUNY Oswego who shaped Bruce’s education – Professors Pearl Monroe, Richard Shineman and Augustine (Gus) Silveira for a student who has demonstrated academic initiative and success while also having documented financial need. The scholarship is intended to ease the financial burden for a student who has demonstrated interest in chemistry/biochemistry/geochemistry, thereby helping them to complete their studies and potentially go on to inspire and assist others in their endeavors.

To qualify for for this award, a student must:

Have a declared major in chemistry, biochemistry or geochemistry
Apply during their sophomore or junior year for an award to be received the subsequent academic year.
Having a minimum GPA of 3.30
Have demonstrated financial need
