Department of Technology Memorial Fund

This scholarship was established in July 1996 to honor the memory and applaud the success of significant emeritus faculty, alumni, and business and community partners. Norwood Baughman (d.1987), a member of the faculty from 1964 – 87; Cheng Chung Liu (d.2009), a member of the faculty from 1976 – 93; Harold Schwartz ’35 (d.1982), an alumnus and president of JOMAR Plastics, and Charles E. Shoemaker ’47 (d.2003), a member of the faculty from 1956 – 85. One scholarship will be given each year to an outstanding student majoring in one of the department’s undergraduate programs. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a sophomore or junior (completed 27–86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline) at the time of selection.
b. Be a full time student majoring in Technology Education or Technology Management.
c. Maintain a minimum 3.00 cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA.
d. Describe personal qualities related to technical competency and leadership.
