Jennifer LaPoint Knighton '09 Delta Phi Epsilon Memorial Scholarship
The sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon and her father, Joseph LaPoint, established this scholarship to honor the memory of Jennifer Ellen LaPoint Knighton ’09, who passed away in an alcohol-related accident on July 19, 2009. Jennifer’s legacy at SUNY Oswego will continue as deserving students benefit financially and have a better opportunity to achieve their full potential and live their dreams while learning about and spreading the message of moderation. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be an active member in good standing in Greek life.
b. Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior when receiving the award.
c. Have and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better.
d. Submit a one-page paper detailing how an alcohol-related situation or lack of moderation has an impact on students’ lives.
e. Submit a written letter of reference.
g. If chosen, recipient must assist in the scholarship’s annual fundraising event “Deepher Dude” with the sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.
