Phyllis Moore Holloway '76 CAS '01 Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Phyllis Moore Holloway ’76 CAS ’01 an educator, community leader and entrepreneur in her lifelong hometown of Syracuse, New York. It is designed to provide perpetual support to students with financial need, who are pursuing their SUNY Oswego experience with tenacity and passion, forever. To qualify for this award, a student must:
• Be a current student, and apply in first year, second year, or third year.
• Have financial need.
• Preference is for a student to be from the City of Syracuse.
• Have documented student involvement / leadership activities in community service and volunteerism, including, but not limited to membership in one of the following SUNY Oswego student organizations or the like:
(-) Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP) – campus food pantry
(-) Mentor Oswego – connecting with local children and adolescents
(-) Adopt-A-Grandparent – connecting with senior adults in the community
• Submit an essay describing how this award money will help them remain committed to student involvement / leadership activities.
NOTE: This scholarship is renewable as long as the student continues to expand and / or intensify community service and volunteerism activities. And submits a new essay, each year, outlining this growth.
