Theatre Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship was established by alumni and friends of the Theatre Department to recognize key students in the department who exhibit leadership, initiative, creativity, collaborative spirit through their participation in the Theatre program and potential for career success. In addition to submitting the application in this booklet, applying students must also submit a resume and an additional 350-word essay addressing involvement in and commitment to the Theatre Department and future career goals as well as 2 letters of reference that highlight involvement in the Theatre Department, creative and scholarly work in theatre and future promise. To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a declared major in the Theatre Department (any track)
b. Apply in their sophomore or junior year (completed 27–86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline), for an award to be received in the next academic year.
c. Have a minimum 2.50 overall GPA and a 3.00 SUNY Oswego GPA in the Theatre major.
d. Submit a resume and additional 350-word essay addressing involvement in and commitment to the Theatre Department and future goals.
e. Submit 2 letters of reference that highlight involvement in the Theatre Department, creative and scholarly work in theatre and future promise.
f. A student may be awarded this scholarship more than once, but it is not automatically renewable. To be considered in subsequent years, a student must re-apply annually.
