Jeffrey ’92 and Ginger Bray Sorensen ’93 Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Jeffrey ‘92 and Ginger Bray Sorensen ‘93 to support students with demonstrated financial need in attending SUNY Oswego. Jeff and Ginger greatly value their time at Oswego, which provided them with meaningful academic experiences, enduring friendships, and a strong foundation for professional success. Through this scholarship, they hope to extend similar opportunities to students so they may fully benefit from the Oswego experience.

The scholarship is intended to assist students who face financial barriers to higher education. Jeff and Ginger are committed to supporting future generations of students who show promise and resilience, particularly those who may have limited access to educational opportunities. The goal is to help students succeed academically and prepare them to make positive contributions to their communities and society more broadly. Preference will be given to students who attended under-resourced and/or disadvantaged high schools.

To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a full-time student in good standing
b. Have demonstrated financial need
c. Have a minimum 2.75 SUNY Oswego GPA
d. Be a freshman at the time of application (having completed 12-26 credits, including transfer credits)
e. Submit an essay (minimum 250 words) indicating how receiving this scholarship will relieve financial strain or financial burden that either the student or family might be experiencing.
f. Preference is given to a student who attended an urban and or disadvantaged high school.
