D'ambrosio Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the family of Vincent Carmen D’Ambrosio ‘60 and Joan Folwer D’Ambrosio ‘60 to provide financial assistance for education majors.

Vincent and Joan were both first-generation college students and met while they were freshmen at SUNY Oswego. Vincent taught in Red Creek, then retired as a full professor after over 30 years of service to SUNY Oswego. Joan taught at Cato Elementary School and at Red Creek Elementary School. While she raised her family, Joan was a substitute teacher in the Oswego City School District. Education was a very important part of their lives.

Scholarship criteria:
Be a declared Childhood Education or Technology Education major.
Apply during junior year to receive the award the following academic year
Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Preference will be given to students who are involved in extracurricular activities on or off campus, such as clubs, athletics, organizations, and volunteerism.
