Ziyah J. Myers Impact Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the family, friends, faculty, staff, administrators, and SUNY Oswego alumni who knew and loved Ziyah J. Myers. The scholarship serves as a continuation of her legacy of supporting and empowering SUNY Oswego students, particularly those who participate in multicultural organizations, so that they can be successful and thrive as students and after they graduate.
To qualify for this award, a student must:
a. Be a currently matriculated student, who is at least a sophomore at the time of application and will be attending SUNY Oswego next academic year. Graduate students are eligible if they meet all other criteria and will be attending SUNY Oswego next academic year.
b. Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application;
c. Have completed a full year on an executive board of a SUNY Oswego recognized multicultural organization OR currently be serving on an executive board of a SUNY Oswego recognized multicultural organization, (participation and role to be verified by the Division of Student Affairs);
d. Have two letters of recommendation, at least one from an Advisor or current President/Vice President of a SUNY Oswego recognized multicultural organization;
e. Have 15 hours of community service (on or off campus) completed while a matriculated SUNY Oswego student; and
f. Have financial need, (to be verified by the Division of Enrollment Management).
g. To be considered, applicants are asked to complete the following short essay: What does empowerment mean to you and how have you impacted the SUNY Oswego community or your own community? (500 words)

- Two references are required. One reference must be from an advisor or current President or Vice President of a SUNY Oswego recognized multicultural organizaiton. Be sure to inform your references that they will receive an email to complete the referece, and provide to them information on the scholarship.
