John '66 and Sally Sodemann Sroka '66 Scholarship

This scholarship was established by John ’66 and Sally Sodemann Sroka ’66, who met during their time as undergraduate students at SUNY Oswego. SUNY Oswego brought John and Sally into a host of life-long friendships and memorable experiences as well as provided them with the foundation to thrive professionally, as teachers. The scholarship will assist students who have a strong financial need.
A student’s financial hardship is the major criteria in the selection process.
To qualify for this award a student must:
a. Be currently enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours minimum)
b. Maintain a minimum 3.00 or better cumulative SUNY Oswego GPA
c. Apply during their freshman, sophomore or junior year (completed 0–86 credits, including transfer credits, by deadline).
d. Provide a separate statement, in addition to your application, about your interests, career goals, and financial need.
e. This scholarship is renewable if the student continues to meet the above criteria.

Note: This scholarship is open for students of all majors to apply, however, a preference will be given to students who wish to enter the realm of education, specifically – teaching – within grades K thru 12.
